Day 1: ARRIVAL IN CHIANG MAI (-/-/-)

English-speaking guide and a private vehicle.

Arrival in Chiang-Mai by flight. 
"We start our descent to Chiang-Mai. Please return to your seat and fasten your seat belt", announces the cabin crew. 
When you leave the plane, proceed and to collect your luggage. At the exit of the airport, you will be welcome by your guide and have your vehicle to transfer you to your hotel. On the way to the hotel, as the urban landscape unfolds before your eyes, you will feel the first sensations of the "Land of Smiles", the nickname of Thailand.
Room available from 14:00. Dinner at leisure and night at the hotel. 

 

Day 2: CHIANG MAI (Breakfast/Lunch/-)

English-speaking guide and a private vehicle

•    9:00 am Departure from your hotel. 
•    10:00 am Excursion by traditional boat on the River Ping 
•    Visit of the Thai Farmer's House
•    12:00 am Culinary tasting Lunch
•    2:00 pm Start of the visits of the main temples of the city 
•    5:00 pm Return to the hotel 
•    Dinner at leisure

Good morning, how was your first night in Chiang-mai? Today you will start your journey by exploring the Mae Ping River crosses a good part of the country and flows into the famous Chao Phraya River. During your river trip in a traditional boat, you will be able to observe the local and colorful way of life, a true rural identity of northern Thailand.

You will then return to the mainland for a visit to a local farm where you will discover the basics - rice, local herbs, fruit, and fishing - all-thriving in a chemical-free environment.
For lunch, you will taste "Khao Soi", a local recipe that brings out the unique flavors of curry soup. 

In the afternoon, you will discover the old city of Chiang Mai. Nestled in the heart of a square surrounded by an ancient moat laid out as a canal, you will visit the main temples such as the Wat Chiang Man temple, the oldest in the city. The Chedi of this temple is remarkable by its rows of elephants that seem to support the whole Chedi. You will then continue the visit to arrive at Wat Chedi Luang. It is the most important temple of the city. Nearby, you will visit the temple Wat Phra Sing. It is then that you will be able to better understand the influence of Buddhism in the Thai culture.


Before returning to your hotel you will attend a briefing to prepare your trek of the next day. Dinner at leisure and overnight at the hotel.
 

Day3: CHIANG MAI – BAAN PANG LUN – BAAN MAE JOK (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

•    10:00 am Arrival at Mae Malai market 
•    11:00 am Swimming at Mak Fah waterfalls 
•    12:30 pm Local lunch at Baan Pang Lun 
•    2:00 pm Departure of the trek 
•    4:00 pm Arrival at Karen village of Baan Mae Jok 
•    Dinner and night in the village

Good Morning! You up north surrounded by many ethnic minorities, mainly from China and Burma that have settled on the mountainous plateaus of Northern Thailand. The most important of them, the Karen tribe, of Tibet-Burmese origin, is certainly one of the best known as its cultural and religious identity, but also the weight of its history, make it atypical.

Departure towards the national park of Huay Nam Dung, you will stop at the local market of Mae Malai to make some provisions, you will go to the waterfall of Mak Fa for a refreshing bath in an exceptional natural setting. You will have a local lunch at Baan Pang Lun. After lunch you will start your hike that will bring you to Mae Jok village will be at the entrance of Huay Nam Dung National Park. Once there, the Karen’s of the village who will accompany you to explore the surroundings will greet you. Time to relax. Rest of evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay with the villager’s in their villages. 
 

Day 4: BAAN MAE JOK (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

•    9:00 am Departure for a 3 to 4 hour hike 
•    12:30 pm Lunch at Baan Khao Laam village 
•    4:00 pm Meeting with the Asian Elephant 
•    Dinner in the village
 
You will continue from where you left on, this morning's trek will take you to Baan Pang Khao Laa, another Karen village, through hiking trails in the middle of the jungle. Your guide will show you his cooking skills by preparing lunch for you. 

At the end of the afternoon, you will meet with the most emblematic animal of the kingdom. Long used for a long time by the wood industry and then in the tourist industry, the Asian elephant today benefits from a change in mentality and is now kept in sanctuaries dedicated to its well being. Back in the village, you will meet around a campfire to share a good time with the inhabitants of the village. Rest of evening at leisure and night at the village.
 

Day 5: BAAN MAE JOK – CHIANG MAI (Breakfast/Lunch/-)

•    8:00 am Departure for a trip down the Mae Tang River in a bamboo rafting boat. 
•    12:00 pm Lunch at Shan village 
•    Return to Chiang Mai and check-in to your hotel. 
•    Dinner at leisure  

Good Morning, Its time to go back to civilization! You will begin your day on a bamboo raft comfortably seated, which will transport you along the Mae Tang River, while discovering another face of the surrounding jungle and its mysterious noises. At the bend in the river, you will discover a Lahu village. This minority, otherwise known as "Muser" (hunter in Burmese), is renowned for its extraordinary hunting skills. Get back on your raft and let yourself be transported by the many rapids to a Shan village, an ethnic group from Burma. Lunch we be served at the Shan Village. 

After a well-deserved local lunch, you will be on your way back to Chiang Mai. Take advantage of the excellent location of your hotel to stroll through the small streets of the city and/or visit the market open every weekend.
 

Day 6: CHIANG MAI <FLIGHT> (Breakfast/-/-)

English-speaking guide and a private vehicle 

Breakfast at the hotel. According to the schedule, transfer to Chiang Mai airport for your flight.
